The Maritime Industry needs qualified &
competent personnel to man and operate their
vessels.
For the right person, the maritime industry has
a tremendous amount to offer. Great pay,
great benefits, job satisfaction, and a
substantial amount of vacation annually. So why is it that the Workboat Industry needs
mariners? There are three major factors that are
in place which are creating a demand for
qualified mariners within the
industry.
-
Growth within the industry.
Shipyards are full throughout the world
constructing Offshore Supply Vessels,
Crewboats, Anchor Handling Boats, Tugboats
and Barges.
- New Regulations. New
regulations set in place by the
International Community and the United
States Coast Guard have placed a tremendous
amount of training requirements on the
industry. These new training
requirements have virtually eliminated the
ability of the incumbent worker to work
their way up to the position of Able Seaman,
Apprentice Mate, Mate of Towing and/or
Officer in Charge of the Watch.
